CDC publishes cybersecurity discussion guide for healthcare leaders

The CDC has created a discussion guide to help leaders of hospitals and healthcare organizations address and prepare for cybersecurity incidents.

The guide offers a discussion-based exercise to boost cybersecurity preparedness in organizations and intends to help users identify issues, strengths and weaknesses with their response capabilities, communication and information sharing when responding to an incident or planning for prevention strategies.

The guide offers a cybersecurity scenario involving a ransomware attack, and participants in the discussion can move through a series of questions to walk through how they might respond to the situation. The guide also includes information on prevention planning.
