NorthShore Highland Park Hospital to Possibly Begin $74.4M Expansion, Renovation Project This Year

NorthShore Highland Park (Ill.) Hospital, part of Evanston, Ill.-based NorthShore University HealthSystem, could begin a $74.4 million renovation and expansion project this fall if the Highland Park City Council approves the project, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

The hospital will remodel several of its existing wings and also construct a three-story, 45,000 square foot building that would be used as a surgical pavilion on the west side of the existing facility. To accommodate more modern equipment, the surgical pavilion will have larger operating rooms.

If the project gets underway this fall, the hospital hopes to have the renovation and expansion completed by 2016, said Jesse Peterson Hall, president of Highland Park Hospital, in the report.

NorthShore University HealthSystem's application for a certificate of need for the Highland Park Hospital project was approved in April.
