For-profit hospital stock report: Week of July 25-29

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health saw the largest decrease in share price, with shares falling 10.8 percent.

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw its share price fall 1.6 percent last week, the least of any of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Here is how the five operators' stock prices stacked up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $12.77 per share (down 1.6 percent)
  • HCA Holdings (Nashville, Tenn.): $77.10 per share (down 4 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $59.18 per share (down 10.8 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $30.61 per share (down 2.7 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $129.53 per share (down 6.3 percent)
