Cheyenne hospital suspends urgent care operations

After failing to reach an agreement with its urgent care contractor, Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center will suspend its urgent care operations indefinitely starting May 20, reports Casper Star Tribune.

The hospital has contracted with Frontier Medical Providers for urgent care services for the past four years. Both companies said they parted on good terms after failing to come to a contract agreement May 10.

Hospital leaders said they are considering a variety of options for CRMC's urgent care clinic moving forward, including soliciting proposals from new contractors. "We are not permanently closing the service; we're simply looking at other options for providing urgent care," Phyllis Sherard, CRMC chief strategy officer and vice president of population health, told Casper Star Tribune.

Frontier had informed hospital leaders of its plans to establish an independent, free-standing urgent care clinic in Cheyenne, slated to open this month.
