5 hospital CFOs in the headlines

Here are five hospital and health system CFOs who were in the news this past week.

1. Yair Katz, CFO of Long Beach (Calif.) Memorial, Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach and Community Hospital Long Beach, was in the news discussing factors affecting hospital budgets in 2017.

2. Gary Barnes was in the news as he was appointed vice chancellor and CFO of Lubbock-based Texas Tech University System, which includes Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas Tech University and Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.

3. Aaron Coley, CFO of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills, Calif., and Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center in Fountain Valley, Calif., was in the news discussing the biggest budgetary challenges for hospital CFOs.

4. Karen Shadowens was in the news as she was named vice president of finance and CFO of Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro, Ohio.

5. Britt Tabor, CFO of Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health System, was in the news discussing the system's most recent financial results.
