14 hospitals receive credit downgrades in past month

Fourteen hospitals and health systems received a credit downgrade during the past month, according to a report from HFA Partners.

The hospitals and health systems receiving credit downgrades included the following:

  • Covenant Health (Tewksbury, Mass.) — from A to A- (Fitch)
  • Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems (Bangor) — from Baa2 to Baa3 (Moody's)
  • Good Shepherd Medical Center (Longview, Texas) — from BB- to B- (S&P)
  • HealthEast (St. Paul, Minn.) — from BBB- to BB+ (Fitch)
  • Jennie Stuart Medical Center (Hopkinsville, Ky.) — from BBB to BBB- (Fitch)
  • Lawrence + Memorial Hospital (New London, Conn.) — from A- to BBB- (S&P)
  • Mercy Health (Cincinnati) — from A1 to A2 (Moody's); and from AA- to A+ (S&P)
  • Mission (Texas) Regional Medical Center — from BB+ to B- (S&P)
  • Oconee Regional Medical Center (Milledgeville, Ga.) — from CC to D (S&P)
  • Parrish Medical Center (Titusville, Fla.) — from BBB+ to BBB (S&P)
  • Presence Health (Chicago) — from Baa2 to Baa3 (Moody's)
  • Provena Health (Chicago) — from Baa2 to Baa3 (Moody's)
  • Resurrection Health Care (Chicago) from Baa2 to Baa3 (Moody's)
  • WakeMed Health System (Raleigh, N.C.) — from AA- to A+ (Fitch)
