Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation (Rochester, Minn.). Designers and administrators at the Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation aim to change healthcare delivery by focusing on the human experience to identify design needs. The center has collaborated with several Mayo departments on multiple innovation initiatives, including efforts to transform room design and a telemedicine program dubbed eConsults, which uses audiovisual technology for real-time patient-provider interactions and eliminates the need for in-person follow-up visits. Additionally, the center hosts an annual two-day healthcare innovation conference called Transform, which brings together providers, designers, entrepreneurs and more to collaborate and share information that can help spur change in the healthcare delivery experience.
