Job postings and wage growth for several healthcare roles have declined in 2025, according to a report from Indeed’s Hiring Lab.
The report analyzed job postings and wage data for U.S. healthcare jobs on the employment site. Here are four findings:
1. Healthcare job postings were 4% above the prepandemic baseline as of July 11, but declined 8% year over year.
2. Nursing job listings were down 10% from 2024 — the steepest decline among healthcare roles. Medical technician postings fell 8.4%.
3. Physician and surgeon job postings increased 3.7%, while pharmacy roles saw a 2% uptick.
4. Wage growth slowed in several categories, including nursing, which saw a 2.1% increase, below the labor average of 2.9%. Wages for medical technician roles remained flat.
