Workers Picket Against Cuts at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island

Employees at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island in Providence picketed Wednesday in protest of planned cuts at the hospital, according to a Providence Journal report.

The hospital, a member of Providence-based Care New England Health System, plans to lay off some clinical and lab staff members, according to the report, which could lead to patient safety and care quality issues, employees say.

District 1199 Service Employees International Union New England was involved in the picket.
