One Way to Strengthen the Healthcare Hiring Process

Organizations may want to incorporate more information about their culture into job interviews and employee assessments to ensure they are using the right “measures of fit” when selecting job candidates, according to a blog post from Select International.

Alissa Parr, PhD, consultant with Select International, wrote that once hiring managers know candidates have the necessarily skills to be successful in the role, a proper assessment of an organization’s culture can improve hiring decisions.

Hiring managers will want to analyze the jobs they are hiring for before beginning the hiring process, according to the blog post.

“For example, is the organization very collaborative and does it require teamwork? Is there a lot of variety involved in work tasks? Does the job require being very adaptable to changing circumstances? After getting a better understanding of these elements, measures of fit can be incorporated into the hiring process,” wrote Dr. Parr.
