The nurses are striking over the hospital’s plan to restructure nursing staff that would “drastically reduce bedside nursing staff and severely undermine the patient advocacy role of nurses in the hospital,” according to the CNA.

According to The Salinas Californian, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital expressed disappointment about the union’s decision to strike.

The strike will start at 7 a.m. May 27 and end at 6:59 a.m. May 28.
