In the next year, 30 percent of healthcare workers are likely to look for a new position, according to the latest quarterly Randstad Healthcare Employee Confidence Index.

That result is up 4 percentage points from the previous quarter.

"Healthcare workers are in high demand," Steve McMahan, executive vice president of Randstad US Professionals, said in the news release. "Employers have to find innovative ways to compete for top talent."

The following are more findings from the survey, conducted from April through June:

•    54 percent of healthcare workers are confident they could find a job in the next 12 months
•    61 percent of healthcare workers feel confident in the future of their employer, up 3 percentage points from the first quarter of 2013
•    26 percent of healthcare workers say the economy is getting stronger, up 4 percentage points from Q1

The survey includes responses from 188 healthcare workers 18 years old and older.
