The new contract with 145 hospital nurses, who are represented by the Minnesota Nurses Association, was reached after three months and 12 negotiation sessions, according to the report. It affects nurses at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, one of the chains of clinics run by the Minnesota-based health system.
The three-year contract calls for a wage increase of 9.25 percent over the three years, along with improvements in health and retirement benefits. The contract will also partner hospital management and nurses to develop a staffing and scheduling system designed to improve patient care, according to the report.
