Florida Hospital to Incentivize Employee Use of Public Transit

Florida Hospital, a health system based in Orlando, plans to incentivize its employees to ride SunRail, a commuter rail system in Central Florida that will start running in May 2014, according to an Orlando Business Journal report.

The system will subsidize 25 percent of employees' fares when they use SunRail to commute to work.

"We feel that SunRail is a better, healthier way to get to work. It's less stressful to get on the train and ride in air-conditioned comfort and not have to worry about traffic," Jody Barry, director of facilities administration at Florida Hospital, told the Orlando Business Journal.

The system has set a goal to get 500 employees at its Orlando campus to ride the commuter train to work, according to the report.
