Extended Contract Averts WVU Hospitals Strike

The contract between West Virginia University Hospitals and its union has been extended until March 17, averting a strike planned for March 8.

The Morgantown-based system and Local 814 of the Laborers’ International Union of North America were able to agree on some key issues this week, according to a WAJR report.

The union, which represents roughly 900 service workers at WVU Hospitals, issued a strike notice earlier this week — the third time it did so since December.
