The pavilion will centralize inpatient and outpatient emergency services for children under 18 in one location. The facility will include eight emergency treatment beds, three minor injury chairs, five inpatient beds, a Ronald McDonald playroom, a respite area for patients and siblings and a media center for patients and their families.
Physicians and pediatric nurses from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will staff the pavilion.
Construction is expected to be completed in about one year.
