Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center (Richmond). The Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center’s cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery and pediatric cardiology divisions provide care through the medical center’s Pauley Heart Center. More than 30 board-certified cardiologists practice at the center. The VCU Pauley Heart Center adopted its current name in 2006, after receiving a $5 million donation from the Pauley Family Foundation. U.S. News & World Report named Virginia Commonwealth No. 49 in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery, and ranked the hospital No.1 overall in the state for 2015-16. The medical center is also recognized as an American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet hospital.
