UC Davis cancer center taps physician-in-chief

Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Health has permanently named David Cooke, MD, as physician-in-chief for the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Cooke has been serving as interim physician-in-chief for the past year and will continue to serve as the cancer center’s associate director of inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility, according to a Nov. 15 news release from the health system.

He is a professor and founding chief for the division of general thoracic surgery, the vice chair for faculty development and wellness, and director of the general thoracic surgery robotics program.
