Three Groups Push for North Texas Proton Therapy Facility

Baylor Health Enterprises, McKesson’s US Oncology and Texas Oncology are leading discussions to bring an advanced proton therapy center for cancer treatment to North Texas, according to a McKesson news release.

The facility would provide proton treatment for patients, which includes highly targeted radiated treatments that have been proven effective in treating some pediatric and adult cancers. The facility would also include the advanced features and capabilities of proton therapy with a smaller footprint than first-generation facilities.

There are currently nine proton therapy centers around the country.
