Texas Heart Institute gets $32M gift from former patient

Houston-based Texas Heart Institute received $32 million from a former patient, Paper City Magazine reported July 25.

The largest philanthropic gift in the institute’s history came from the estate of Frederick Weissman, MD, who was a neurologist treated by the center in the mid-1980s. Dr. Weissman credited the institute team with saving his life and bestowed upon it several gifts throughout his life.
