The facility offers radiation therapy by CyberKnife, a robotic machine that delivers more powerful doses of radiation in fewer treatments. The cancer center is located in a 10,000-square-foot office that will also house Swedish’s Chicago Back Institute, which offers advanced neurosurgery procedures.
The building is the hospital’s first downtown location, and provides access to more affluent patients without the cost of building a new facility, according to the report.
Swedish opened the center through a joint venture with cancer center developer Accelitech and approximately 20 physicians, according to the report.
