Becker’s used KFF and U.S. Census Bureau data to determine the number of oncologists per capita in every state and the District of Columbia. KFF obtained state licensing information from Redi-Data to determine the number of active physicians by specialty as of January. 

Here are the 10 states with the most oncologists per capita:

Washington, D.C.: 33.28

Massachusetts: 19.67

Rhode Island: 18.89

New York: 12.86

Connecticut: 12.51

Maryland: 11.78

Pennsylvania: 10.6

Ohio: 8.72

Minnesota: 8.62

Missouri: 8.59
