Hospital officials say the proposed cancer treatment facility offers much-needed services, including radiation oncology, nursing and support services for survivors. The facility would also help keep the hospital competitive, according to the report.
However, community members are wary of the construction plans, which would lead to traffic, noise and other “disruptions.” The community board is attempting to balance needs from both the hospital and community members. The board has not set a timeframe for when it would reach a decision on the proposed facility.
