Under the agreement, UAB Cancer Care Network will provide continuing medical education, quality improvement measures, prevention outreach to underserved markets and clinical trials at the hospital. Gulf Coast Medical Center will pay for services based on its size and the services used.
Gulf Coast Medical Center is the first hospital in Florida to affiliate with the network, but the network is in discussions with medical centers in Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola to expand its affiliations in the state.
