Riverside Medical Center (Kankakee, Ill.). This 325-bed hospital is part of Riverside HealthCare, a fully integrated system serving patients in four counties. It is the only hospital with Magnet recognition for excellence in nursing in the area and has been named one of Truven Health Analytics’ 100 Top Hospitals six times, most recently in 2015. Riverside Medical Center has earned several other prestigious awards since it opened in 1964, including several awards from Healthgrades, such as the Distinguished Hospital Award for clinical Excellence and the Patient Safety Excellence Award. It received both of those awards in 2014 and 2015.
