Gaston Memorial Hospital was originally named in 1946 to honor the county’s deceased war veterans, according to the report. The hospital’s new name is designed to “preserve its independent status” and convey its dedication to community healthcare, according to the report.
CaroMont Health will reveal the new name Wednesday, according to the report.
