The Parkview Huntington Hospital Autism Center will provide therapeutic and rehabilitation services for children aged two to 18 and support groups for their families. The space will initially accommodate 10 children and will eventually expand to accommodate up to 40 children.
The center will include two facilities: one facility in the hospital will provide rehabilitation services, and one facility in a different hospital-owned building will provide education, cognitive and behavioral therapy and support activities.
The hospital will begin renovations to create the autism center within weeks, according to the release.
