Northwell Cancer Institute taps radiation leader from RWJBarnabas

New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health Cancer Institute has named Sang Sim, MD, as vice chair of brachytherapy with the department of radiation medicine. 

Brachytherapy is a specialized form of internal radiation therapy that destroys cancer cells and slows tumor growth without harming nearby healthy tissue, according to a May 8 news release from Northwell. 

Dr. Sim previously served as co-director of West Orange, N.J.-based RWJ Barnabas Health’s Gamma Knife Center at the system’s Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, N.J.
