Newark-Wayne Community Hospital in New York Breaks Ground on New $13M ED

Newark-Wayne Community Hospital in Rochester, N.Y., has started construction for a new $13 million emergency department to replace the existing one, according to a Democrat and Chronicle report.

The new ED will more than double in size in order to accommodate the hospital’s more than 20,000 ED visits per year. The existing emergency department was built to accommodate 11,000 ED visits per year. The new ED will also house a new endoscopy suite. Construction is projected to be complete in 18 months.
