The hospital employee claims the patient, who was being treated for a fall, stole car keys from his jacket, according to the report. After the patient was discharged, he then allegedly stole the car and then crashed it.
The car has been recovered, but the former patient has not been found.
JCMC security has shared images from hospital cameras with the Jersey City Police Department and is working closely with the police, according to the report. “The safety and security of our patients, visitors and staff is our first priority,” a hospital spokesman told The Jersey Journal.
