The tower (rendering pictured right) will be designed for multidisciplinary approaches to care and integrated technology. The building will house an ambulatory surgery center with 12 operating rooms and four procedure rooms; an advanced imaging center; onsite laboratory services and a pharmacy; and new primary and specialty care practices.
The facility will be adjacent to Montefiore’s Center for Orthopaedic Specialties at Hutchinson Metro Center in the Bronx. The addition of the new building will create Montefiore’s fourth campus, which will be called Hutchinson Campus.
Montefiore Medical Center’s initial lease agreement is for 16 years with the option to extend the lease or purchase the tower, according to the release.
The project is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2014.
