Major Hospital (Shelbyville, Ind.). Major Hospital has served residents of Shelbyville for nearly a century. This year, Major Hospital was named to iVantage’s Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital list. A new 350,000-square-foot building currently in construction will become the future of Major Hospital. Slated to open this year, the facility will feature 56 private inpatient rooms, 38 outpatient rooms and accommodations for 30 primary care providers and 27 specialist physicians.
