As the health system is part of the university, the name changes are intended to unify the brand and better reflect the organization’s mission and scope, according to the release.

The health system’s new name is Georgia Regents Health System. The 478-bed GHS Medical Center changed its name to Georgia Regents Medical Center and the 154-bed GHS Children’s Medical Center became Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

All other clinical operations also changed names to include Georgia Regents. Earlier in January, the physician practice group Georgia Health Sciences Medical Associates became Georgia Regents Medical Associates.
