Florida Hospitals Join Forces to Share Quality Best Practices

Some dozen hospitals in the Jacksonville, Fla., area have joined to form the Quality Collaborative, a vehicle for sharing best practices related to quality care, according to a report by the Jacksonville Business Journal.

The hospitals’ initial goal was to examine current practices, come up with a strategy to improve them and share outcomes, according to the report. The group broke into committees to study pain management, hand sanitation and communication.

They are beginning to review preliminary results in the hopes of reducing costly errors that contribute to rising overall healthcare costs.
