Green Bay, Wis.-based Emplify Health and Milwaukee-based Marquette University have partnered to establish a program that aims to train mental health professionals for northeast Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.
Funded by the Richard J. Resch Foundation and the Bellin Health Foundation, the initiative will recruit and fully support 25 students from the region. The students will be provided supervised training alongside an Emplify clinical supervisor.
“By providing a comprehensive and supported pathway from education to employment, we are ensuring our communities have access to the high-quality mental health care they deserve,” said Chris Woleske, Emplify Health’s executive vice president and Bellin region president.
By the completion of the seven-year pilot program, graduates are expected to serve an estimated 26,000 clients per year. “By supporting the education and training of mental health professionals, we are not only addressing a critical need but also fostering a healthier, more resilient community,” said Sharon Resch of the Resch Foundation.
