Washington’s PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center Acquires Cardiology Group

PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, Wash., has reached an agreement to acquire North Cascade Cardiology, also in Bellingham, according to a Bellingham Herald report.

The acquisition is effective July 1. Financial details were not disclosed, according to the report. North Cascade has 13 cardiologists and four nurse practitioners. Both sides have said the acquisition wasn’t driven by financial difficulties, but rather to increase efficiency by reducing the duplication of costly technology, according to the report.
