An 87-year-old driver was attempting to park in a handicapped-designated space near the ED when she reportedly pushed the wrong pedal and crashed into the pediatric waiting area’s window, a NWH nursing administrator told Boston 25 News.

“Fortunately, no one was inside at the time so there were no injuries to anybody inside,” Newton-Wellesley Hospital spokesperson Brian O’Dea told CBS Boston. As of Sunday, the 87-year-old driver and an 86-year-old passenger were being evaluated and are expected to be OK.

The ED was open throughout the incident.
