An Atlantic Health spokesperson said the system “is among several organizations in discussion with Saint Clare’s” regarding a possible transfer of ownership, according to the report.
A Saint Clare’s spokesperson said the system’s search for a buyer apart from CHI is driven by the recognition that healthcare providers must be “part of regional networks of coordinated healthcare delivery organizations including physicians, health facilities, payors and other related healthcare entities,” according to the report.
Atlantic Health currently operates three hospitals and a children’s hospital. It is also continuing discussions with Hackettstown (N.J.) Regional Medical Center after the hospital announced its pursuit of a partner last May, according to the report. Hackettstown is currently the only New Jersey-based hospital within Rockville, Md.-based Adventist Health Care.
