Amazon said it  signed up more new members for its Prime service on July 16, the 36-hour Prime Day kickoff, than on any other day in company history.

Some of the event’s best-selling products were made by Amazon, including the Fire TV Stick, Echo Show and Echo Spot. Amazon also reported that small- and medium-sized businesses made $1 billion worth of sales on Prime Day.

There were a series of glitches in the early afternoon July 16 that prevented some users from making purchases, but Amazon quickly fixed the situation.

“We know there were some disappointed customers, and we regret any bad experience, even for just one customer,” said an Amazon spokesperson, according to CNBC. “Fortunately, many Prime members were able to access our deals – that’s apparent in the numbers we’re seeing. And we have some key learnings for next year.”
