The relocation, in addition to investments in new technologies, will allow the heart and vascular program to expand.

The Heart & Vascular Institute is currently a standalone facility that includes an intensive care unit, an emergency department, catheterization suites, operating rooms and a pharmacy. Carondelet Health Network officials say moving the institute to an acute-care hospital with a range of medical specialties will enhance the program’s quality of care.

The relocation is expected to take six to nine months.
