33 Hospitals Recognized for Reduced Energy Consumption

In honor of Earth Day on April 22, the American Society for Healthcare Engineering of the American Hospital Association recognized 33 hospitals that have reduced energy consumption by 10 percent or more in the past year.

ASHE Executive Director Dale Woodin said the energy savings in the facilities improved their operations and the local environments, and the saved resources are able to go back to “the core mission of the organization: to provide outstanding care to patients.”

The 33 hospitals that were recognized include:

•    Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Ill.
•    Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Ill.
•    Advocate Eureka (Ill.) Hospitals
•    Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Ill.
•    Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago
•    Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill.
•    Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago
•    Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
•    Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati
•    Good Samaritan in Cincinnati
•    Memorial Hermann The Woodlands (Texas) Hospital
•    Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center in Houston
•    Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center Heart and Vascular Institute in Houston
•    Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston
•    Memorial Hermann Southwest Heart and Vascular Institute in Houston
