Children’s Mercy in Missouri to Open Fetal Health Center

Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City, Mo., will open its new Elizabeth J. Ferrell Fetal Health Center next month, according to a Sacramento Bee report.

The hospital began delivering babies in spring 2011 in a temporary space in the hospital. The new center will include two specialized delivery/operating rooms, four labor and recovery rooms and a sibling playroom.

The facility will focus on care for high-risk babies who may need surgery or other treatment soon after delivery, according to the report.
