Teladoc has unveiled the commercial rollout of its updated mobile app, which integrates services from its recent acquisition, Best Doctors, the company confirmed Jan. 9.
Teladoc completed its acquisition of Best Doctors, a medical consultation company focused on complex and chronic medical issues, July 17, 2017. Under the acquisition, Best Doctors shareholders received $375 million in cash and $65 million in Teladoc common stock, per the companies' June 19 agreement.
The updated mobile app adds Best Doctors' expert specialty and second opinion services to Teladoc's existing focus on high-frequency care. Through the app, joint Teladoc and Best Doctors members will be able to schedule reviews of their diagnoses and treatment plans for various conditions.
The commercial rollout of the app follows a successful limited release Teladoc unveiled to select clients in the fourth quarter of 2017.
