The hospital deployed the service through an agreement with Advanced ICU Care, a telehealth and patient monitoring provider. Under the agreement, Advanced ICU Care’s team of intensivists and critical care nurses will provide 24/7 remote clinical status, medications and vital signs oversight for critically ill patients.
If a provider identifies a warning indicator in need of urgent intervention, he or she will engage onsite clinicians. Remote and onsite providers will also be able to discuss patient evaluations face-to-face using two-way video technology.
