FirstCare Health Plans teamed up with MDLive, giving its members with access to a new telemedicine program.
The FirstCare Virtual Care powered by MDLive offers members access to board-certified and licensed providers and therapists 24/7 via their smartphones, tablets or desktop computers.
All FirstCare members will have access to the program Jan. 1, which is the final phase of a rollout that began in September 2018 for FistCare's TRS-ActiveCare members only. The final phase will include commercial members as well as Medicare beneficiaries.
"We are excited to introduce this telemedicine benefit to all of our membership," said FirstCare Chief Medical Officer Adolfo Valadez, MD, FirstCare's CMO. "The FirstCare Virtual Care program will help our members eliminate the barrier of physically traveling to a provider's office or emergency department for non-emergent care.
