Fairbanks Memorial Hospital launches telestroke program

Fairbanks (Alaska) Memorial Hospital rolled out a telestroke program in December, Webcenter11 reports.

The program is offered through a partnership with Anchorage-based Providence Health & Services Alaska. Under the program, Fairbanks Memorial Hospital clinicians are able to access remote neurology staff at Providence Health & Services Alaska to help evaluate potential stroke patients.

The goal of the program, which Fairbanks Memorial Hospital officials developed during the past year, is to accelerate diagnosis and treatment for stroke patients.
