Baptist hospital rolls out telehealth for students

Baptist Health Paducah (Ky.) is partnering with five local schools to offer telehealth examinations to students on a tablet through a partnership with TytoCare, CBS affiliate KFVS12 reported Feb. 13.

The virtual exams will allow clinicians to diagnose and call in a prescription to a pharmacy. 

“We want to keep students healthy and in school,” Baptist Health Medical Group and Paducah Public School District Health Coordinator Jessica Colburn, RN, said. “It not only helps the students but helps their guardians as well because they do not have to miss work to take the student to an appointment. Keeping students in school and not missing any important educational instruction is vital. As long as a student is not contagious, they can continue their school day.”
