US hospital debuts new mobile MRI machine

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is the first U.S. hospital to use Philips’ mobile version of a magnetic resonance imaging machine, according to information shared with Becker’s on Aug. 1.

The hospital’s West Kendall Outpatient Center is debuting the mobile version of the Philips Ambition X MR, which is practically helium-free and the first mobile BlueSeal MRI in North America. The machine also has immersive technology to alleviate stress, including lighting, visual themes, characters and child-friendly music. 

The announcement marks a milestone for the 10-year collaboration between Philips and the Miami-based hospital.
