Supply chain tip of the week: Invest in a diverse, talented supply chain team

Supply chain success is often more of an art than a science, so it is important to have a diverse set of skills on your team to achieve best results. Both in response to the pandemic and due to advancing technology in the healthcare field, health systems must be agile among ongoing changes.

Diversity of thought within a supply chain is critical in order to successfully adapt to rapid change. Some supply chain professionals are “automators”—they turn manual into digital, introducing tools like smart cabinets and point-of-use wands to take the guesswork out of inventory counts and overall strive to eliminate manual processes. Others are “team anchors”—the dependable ones the team turns to for expertise and a solid finish. These different roles work together to present innovative ideas and drive success.
