Siemens Healthineers has stopped selling its general imaging ultrasound systems, including the Acuson Sequoia, Redwood, Juniper and Maple.
The company will instead focus its ultrasound business on procedural imaging and image-guided therapy, according to an Oct. 12 news release from Siemens Healthineers.
“The company will sell procedural ultrasound systems which include the Acuson Origin, P500 ICE and Freestyle, together with dedicated software and catheters to procedural customers, mainly electrophysiologists and interventional cardiologists,” the news release said.
Siemens will continue to support existing general imaging ultrasound system customers with maintenance, software updates and transducer availability. The company will continue to honor all contractual and regulatory obligations, according to the release.
